Our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sharon Lynne Sanders, passed away gracefully and peacefully on August 2, 2019 at the age of 77 years (DOB: September 29, 1941) after a recent diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
Sharon is predeceased by her husband Garth Sanders (2014), husband Ray McCrimmon (1978), parents Marguerite and Elgin Steen and brother Graeme Steen. She will be deeply missed by her children; Jill (Russ) Clarke, Allyson (Dean) McDonald, Heather (Mike) Morhart, Brad (Lauren) Sanders and Dori Sanders (Tammy Ens); grandchildren Mitchell Clarke, Kyle Clarke (Alisha Triff), Lauren Clarke (Calder Dollard), Sydney and Liam McDonald, Claire, Seth and Kane Morhart; sister Sandra (Bill) Bruneau, sister-in-law Roxanne Inch, niece Rochelle (Bill) Douris, nephew Jon (Maria) Bruneau, very special cousin and friend Joan Sandomirsky, as well as many extended cousins.
Sharon will be remembered as a beautiful, classy, vivacious woman that had the gift of the gab! She was an outstanding cook, loved to garden and in the last few years had travelled extensively. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and each will cherish the special moments they shared with her.
Sharon had a passionate love of music. At a young age, she took piano lessons (from her mother) and singing lessons. In her teens, she joined her parent’s dance band “The Liberty Orchestra”, singing and playing the saxophone with her father, sister on clarinet and mother on the piano. She had a gorgeous singing voice and was a soloist for many occasions throughout her life. One of her lifetime highlights was being invited to sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City. She was a member of Sunset United Church Choir for over 40 years and most Friday nights you could find her at performances of the Regina Jazz Society.
Above all else, Sharon was a spiritual woman with a strong, strong faith. This provided her with peace and focus in her last days – she had no regrets. Swirling and dancing saints have welcomed her!
The family would like to specially thank Dr. Carol Geddes for her wonderful care of our mother, the staff at the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit and all of the very special friends and family that were able to come and spend some time with her.
