 Calvin Dennis Read

Calvin was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on January 1, 1953 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Shirley Read, his fathers-in-law, Joseph Henderson and William Snook.  Calvin is survived by his wife Debbie Read; daughters Shannon Jennewein (Stuart) of Las Vegas, Sarah Hegan (Dustin Burback) of Regina; son Adam Snook (Kim) of Kronau; granddaughters Emily and Abby; sisters Beverly Lidster (George) of Red Deer, Norma Briginshaw (Ernie) of Blind Bay, BC, Karen Schweighardt (Michael) of Calgary and Sharen Read of Prince Albert; brother Kirby Read (Helen) of Morinville; mother-in-law Gayle Henderson; sisters-in-law Barb Reid and Melinda Henderson (Kris); brother-in-law Rick Snook (Theresa); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Cal worked in retail stores most of his life, Eatons, Sears, The Bay and Home Depot and most recently, doing finishing work for Dundee Homes.  He enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, reading, music, travelling and Emma Lake. Cal was a member of the Serb Club, where he enjoyed many golfing trips with other members.  A special thank you to the nurses and doctors and coordinators in the Palliative Care Unit for their kind and compassionate care and the music therapist that brought such comfort to the family. At Calvin’s request no service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Calvin to Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200 – 4545 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK S4W 0G3.
