BARNES, Patrick Leo
The family of Patrick Leo Barnes are deeply saddened and heartbroken to announce his sudden passing into the hands of our Lord, on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at the age of 78 years. Pat was born in Regina on July 23, 1941, the eldest child of Millard and Louise Barnes (both deceased). Pat is survived by his loving wife Linda; daughters Rhonda Barnes-Pitka (Colin) and Barb Barnes Wilcox (Darren); grandchildren Lance Pitka (Kelly) of Saskatoon, Megan Pitka, Josh Wilcox (Moira), and Brady Wilcox (Preston Ganne); and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Wyatt. Pat will also be sadly missed by his sister Dianne (Bert) Poitras; brother Gordon of Calgary; sister-in-law Rita (David) Brinsmead of Calgary; brother-in-law Chuck Urban (Bev Wilson); as well as nephews and their spouses. Pat spent many years employed with Taylor Automotive Group and retired in 2005. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Pat enjoyed golfing and took pleasure in taking care of his yard in the summer and spending time in Palm Springs with his “winter friends” in cold months. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his standing brunch dates with his daughters, and the many family gatherings. Pat will be dearly missed by family, relatives, his golf and coffee buddies, special neighbours, and friends. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, bright smile, and out-going personality. A heartfelt thank you to first responders and the staff at the Cardiac Care Unit. Graveside Service will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4001 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, SK on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Due to Covid -19 restrictions, the graveside service will be broadcast to vehicles in the cemetery on radio FM 106.9.
