Obituary of Scott Andrew Johnston
JOHNSTON, Scott Andrew
July 14, 1971 – August 4, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Johnston of Regina at the age of 49 years from a heart attack. Scott is lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife Marie-France; his sons Nathan and Connor; parents Don and Bonnie; sister Jennifer (Andrew); mother-in-law Ghislaine Giasson; sister-in-law Marie-Josee (Luc) Duteau; as well as niece Catherine and nephew Alex, who thought Uncle Scott was the best. Scott spent his childhood in Regina and Moose Jaw. He attended Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw and graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Saskatchewan. He joined IBM in 1994 and worked as an IT Specialist for 20 years. After forming his own company, Red Rock IT Consulting he contracted with GlassHouse Systems to the present time. Scott’s family was his priority. He most enjoyed spending time with them enjoying the simple things in life – nature, going for walks, drives in the countryside, coffee on the deck with Marie-France, watching sunsets, playing football, basketball or building Lego with his boys. He was a creative writer, and a talented artist and musician. Scott had a passion for science and technology. He loved the Arizona dessert and the family took many vacations there. Scott shared his love of cacti with his niece Catherine. An important activity for Scott was playing volleyball with his friends. He discovered the joy of cooking and took pride in the meals he prepared. Scott was a handyman and always ready to give a helping hand with projects. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his contagious laugh, his positive outlook, his ready smile and his infamous dimples. Scott will be forever missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A private graveside service will be held. Thank you to the Regina City Police and EMS, for their dedicated care and help for Scott and family.
