New Options for Funerals

Continuing the proud tradition of innovation established by George Speers over a century ago, we are proud to be Regina's leaders in offering new products and services to the families we serve. From live webcasting of your loved one's funeral service - to unique keepsake memorials -  there are many new options we are pleased to offer.

We encourage you to learn more about these new options below, or for more information, please contact us.

Livestreaming

As much as friends and family want to be there for a funeral, travel and scheduling conflicts may prevent some from doing so. Fortunately, there is a new solution to this problem.

Whether the funeral service is held at Speers Funeral Chapel, or another location, we can broadcast your loved one's funeral service live over the internet on their Speers obituary page for an additional fee of $295.

Cremation Jewelry

As more Saskatchewan families choose cremation, new and personal forms of memorialization, such as cremation jewelry, have become increasingly popular.

Beautifully crafted with special compartments to hold your loved one's ashes, our line of cremation jewelry options allows you to create a personal remembrance piece to remember your loved one, everyday. To view our catalogue of cremation jewelry, please click here.

A locally owned and operated business in Regina, Solitude & Soul creates keepsakes that are handcrafted individually. These pieces are available in pure silver or 22 karat gold. Please click on the Solitude & Soul logo to visit the website and see all keepsakes available.

Video Tribute Production

Families can choose up to 60 photographs, along with the music of their choice to allow our staff to create a unique video tribute in honour of your loved one. This Video Tribute can be posted on the obituary page on our website, shared on Facebook and recorded on DVD for your family to cherish for years to come.

Custom Designed Memorial Cards

At Speers, we believe in the value of personalization. Carrying this belief through the entire funeral planning process, we can help you create a unique and personal memorial card for your loved one's service. Memorial cards, such as the example below, are distributed to those attending the funeral service or Celebration of Life and can feature photos, the obituary and the schedule of service events.

To help make the card design truly unique, we are pleased to offer the services of our in-house graphic designer to help you create something special, like the card in the example below.

DNA Memorial

The death of a loved one has traditionally meant the loss of family history. Memories fade and so does important information, such as genealogical heritage and medical history. Questions of “what diseases did we inherit in our genes” and “where do we come from” will be asked many generations from now.

Technology in DNA analysis has improved rapidly in recent years, which today can provide important and relevant information of a family’s medical and genealogical history.

Our funeral professionals can collect your loved one's DNA using non-invasive methods and return it to you in a hermetically sealed vial under an inert gas for long-term storage. Alternatively, if you are pre-planning your funeral then you can preserve your own DNA ensuring that your family has future access to your genetic history thereby helping to safeguard their future.
