Obituary of Elizabeth Jolan Dezsi
DÉZSI, Elizabeth
TE (You)
Elizabeth Dézsi, late of Regina, SK passed away August 10, 2020 at the age of 85. Born in Budapest, Hungary on July 13, 1935. Predeceased by her husband Julius Dézsi 15 years ago.
Survived by daughter Ildi (Ildiko) Brennan; grandchildren Séamus, Christian, Mátyás, and Alana; great grandchildren Rylan, and Verity known as Vera to grandma, all from Calgary, AB.
Mom received her diploma of Economic and Technical Institute, Industrial Section in June 1953.
Mom was an avid gardener, extraordinary baker and cook, exceptional housekeeper and vacuumed every day! After all, how much dirt can one create? Only my mom would use a brush to dust the upholstered chairs which probably have not been sat in for decades. Mom was the only person I’ve known that wore down the brush attachment to a vacuum.
Now that I think back, most often she would call me Te Ildi which means “you” Ildi. Never did I imagine or even think about why she did. It started a long time ago, and it definitely got my attention every time.
Mom chose to give up driving on her own as her eyesight was failing drastically.
Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing, may make donations to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon SK, S7K 1V9. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
A Memorial Service which will be held at a later date, will be announced soon. Pastor Jeff Tank will officiate at the service.
Thank you,
Elizabeth’s Family
