Annie Bilawchuk, late of Regina, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in the Pasqua Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike; daughter, Carey; granddaughter, Hali; parents, Peter and Joyce; siblings: brothers, Nick, Steve, and Walter and sister, Mary. Annie is survived by her children: son, Clarence (Dorothy); son-in-law, Jim; daughter, Cathy (Larry); son, Bob (Cheryl); grandchildren: Wayne (Kathryn), Weldon, Stacy (Julie), Wendy (Brian), Crystal (Jade), Chelsey, Derek (Erica), Mandy (Tanner), Kristen (Chris) and Tracy (Brandon); great-grandchildren: Carter, Danielle (Marshall), Allie, Brandi (Travis), Tyson, Tyler (Summer), Todd (Neil), Nya, Adam, Bauer and Zoey; siblings: brother, Alex and sister, Rose. Annie Chaykowski was born on February 5, 1925 by midwife in Kinloch, Saskatchewan. She married Mike Bilawchuk on November 27, 1941. They had four children, which they raised on their farm in the Archerwill area until 1974. At this time they moved to Wadena for 12 years where Annie worked as a caretaker at the Wadena school, and later at the Wadena hospital. They then made their final move to Regina in 1986, and celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1991. Annie was very gentle, kind, hardworking and always put everyone else before herself. She considered her family her greatest accomplishment in which she was very proud her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and friends, organizing events in the apartment games room, and playing cards, shuffleboard and bingo. Everyone was welcome at Annie’s place, where you were sure to be greeted with a big hug and lots of food. She was famous for her birthday cards with detailed notes and stickers, and always having decorations for every occasion. She was the matriarch of the family, in which she will be deeply missed by all.
