Margaret Mandziak

Obituary of Margaret Mandziak

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Margaret, late of Regina, at the age of 85 on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband Nestor; sons Laine and Nelson; parents Peter and Pauline Koshlay; as well as ten siblings. Marg leaves to mourn her daughter Shirley (Kevin); sons Dale (Heidi), Barry of Calgary, and Randy (Eleanor and grandchildren Anya and Zachary); sister Jean Parachoniak; special family friend, Angela Ziegler, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Marg loved to plant her petunias yearly and grow a small garden.  She challenged her husband Nestor often to a game of crib and continued to play cards and complete crossword puzzles after his passing.  Her grandchildren became the joy of her life. Her niece Diane would always visit with her to share stories over a cup of coffee. As well, her niece Bronica attended her home frequently where the two of them would share laughter together while having a cigarette on the deck.  It always made her day when her nieces and nephews would go out of their way to drop by her home to see how their “Auntie Margie” was doing.

Mom, we know you will still listen to your favorite songs, “If I Had A Million Dollars” by The Barenaked Ladies and “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” by Simon & Garfunkel.  Continue to enjoy them as you always did.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a public come and go visitation will be held for those wishing to spend a moment in thought and prayer with Marg at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1747 Toronto Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.  To view the Livestream of the service please click the link found on Margie’s memorial page.  Interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park.
