1995-2020

It is with the deepest heartache that we announce that Devin Vernon Deck our beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to so many died suddenly and unexpectedly on October 10, 2020 at the age of 24. While Devin’s life ended much too soon, his impact and wisdom will go on forever. Whether you were his forever friend or only met him for a few hours, he left behind plenty of stories, videos, pictures, memories and probably personal belongings for all to keep. Devin was predeceased by his mother Joanne Deck; uncle Guy Schlosser; and by his grandparents Dennis Deck and Vernon and Marg Schlosser. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his father Dwayne Deck; sister Kylee Deck; brother Adrian Deck (Ashley) and his niece Nevaeh Weimer ; grandmother Delores Deck and numerous family members and friends. Devin loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was never lacking a good time and always living his best life. But what Devin truly loved was marinating on everyone else’s couch, driving for hours on end with the stereo cranked, McDonald’s and Dixie Chicks. Devin was a pipeliner and was in the process of starting his own inspection company ‘Wildcard Contracting LTD.’ He was also trained as a firefighter having graduated from Parkland Fire College in 2015. Devin truly loved sports and was proud of his accomplishments with the Swift Current Legionnaires and the Odessa Broomball team. More importantly than being an athlete, Devin was a great teammate and friend, adding lots of laughter to the locker room and bringing the squad together. All those who loved him will forever remember his bold laugh, his colourblind sense of style, over exaggerations, random theories, and one liners, his gullibleness and beyond belief carefree nature. A Celebration of Devin’s life will be held at the White City Community Hall, White City, SK, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. The family would request that any memorial donations be made to Stars Air Ambulance at 2640 Airport Rd, Regina SK S4W 1A3.
