Obituary of John Edward Matheson
We are saddened to share the news that John died suddenly on October 15, 2020 at the age of 50 years. He was predeceased by his father Lawrence Matheson and his mother-in-law Elaine Gorski. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lori; daughter Jennifer (Dyllan) Worner; his mother Marianne (Steve) Henshall; father-in-law Bill Gorski; his sisters Pearl (Roy) Henderson and Anne-Marie (Jeramie) Bender; sisters-in-law Debbie Shevchuk and Terrilee Gomez-Gorski; nieces Kayla (Jason) Rueck, Amanda Matheson, Vanessa Gomez-Gorski, Maddy Shevchuk and Abbey Shevchuk; nephews Matthew Henderson, Aidan Bender, Cameron Bender, Zachary Bender and Mitchell Shevchuk; as well as many friends. John was an avid fisherman and when he wasn’t outdoors fishing he could often be found indoors battling with Matthew playing NHL video games. He was a loyal Vancouver Canuck fan, a British Columbia Lions fan at heart, and a Rider fan as long as they were not playing BC. He enjoyed country music. He and Lori loved going to concerts and events like Craven. John worked hard as a truck driver travelling all around Saskatchewan and he knew the ins and outs of many small towns along each road. John had a warm sense of humour and loved to joke around. He will be remembered as a very loving and caring family man. We will miss him dearly. Those so wishing, may make memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #26-1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9.
