TATER, Gladys Catherine (nee Zaron)

1929-2020

With love and gratitude for a long life well lived, Gladys’ family sadly announces her quiet passing on the afternoon of Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the age of 91 years. The eldest of four children, Gladys was born in Southey, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Regina when she was a young girl; she lived there the rest of her life. As a young woman Gladys worked as a waitress at her uncle's café and was very proud to work at the Dome Cafe at the provincial legislature. She also worked for Burns Foods, where she met her husband of 56 years, Eli. Gladys was a loving wife and mother, a devoted daughter and sister. Her proudest moment was when her son Gary was born. She also cared deeply for her Dad, who lived with them for 20 years. Gladys was a wonderful cook and baker, cared for animals, including the family dog, Brownie, and several neighbourhood dogs. She also loved gardening and always had the loveliest flower bed on the street. Gladys was a big fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and was very devoted to her church. She had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. Gladys will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son Gary (Leilani Collins); sister Grace; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Eli; parents Peter and Ingeborg; and brothers Donald and Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society, Highway #6 & Armour Road, Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7, the Canadian Diabetes Association, 919B Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6 or Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Rd, Regina, SK S4S 4N5. A private visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 AT 7:00 p.m. and a private family Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. To view the Livestream of Gladys’ service, please click the link above.
