Obituary of Hanne Caleval

CALEVAL, Hanne

Hanne Caleval, late of Mistusinne, SK, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Predeceased by her husband Cecil Caleval; her parents Herman and Anna-Lise Laursen; and her brother John Dencker. She is survived by sister Susanne (Neville); son Tim (Shannon); daughter Lise (Randy); grandchildren Nikki (Nikki), Calvin, Connor, and Emma; great-grandchildren MacKenna and Askel; many nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends. Hanne was born in Randers, Denmark and immigrated to Canada in 1956, becoming a Canadian citizen in 1964. She maintained close contact with family in Denmark, often travelling back to visit or hosting family here in Canada. Hanne had a variety of different careers, from Executive Assistant at Stage West at the Regina Inn to Executive Director of the North Central Health Center. She retired from United Pharmacists in 2000 working in accounts receivable. In 1979 the family built a cabin at Mistusinne Resort Village at Diefenbaker Lake, where Hanne made it her retirement home in 2000. Summers were spent golfing and entertaining. Hanne was often found sitting on her back deck visiting with friends and family and enjoying the many birds that frequented her yard. During the winter, Hanne spent her time travelling or painting in art groups with her friends. She loved to go to Barbados, where she was joined by her sister and brother-in-law from England. The family thanks the health care professionals that have helped her on her journey. Due to Covid-19, a celebration of Hanne’s life will be held at a future date.
