Muriel and Family,
We got to know Bob when he was Chair of the Ranch Ehrlo Board, and we thought a lot of his caring, able leadership. He was easy to like and talk to. The Churchill quote is very appropriate in describing Bob. This world could use more Bob Petersons'.
Our sympathies go out to Muriel and family. They will be sustained by many wonderful memories of life with Bob.

The Churchill quote that starts the obituary is very appropriate. Bob gave so much to better the life of his fellow Canadians.
He and I were appointed to the Senate in the same year, worked together in the Senate Liberal Caucus, and had our offices on the same floor in the Victoria Building in Ottawa. I enjoyed working with him. He was a wonderful person with strong values and dedication to public service.
I am truly sorry to see him go. My sympathies to the family.

I met Bob when I moved to Regina from Winnipeg to establish a branch office for Earthworm Ltd., a foundation drilling contractor that was a direct competitor to Bob's employer, Subterranean Ltd. I was fortunate to meet Bob socially through the Regina Jaycees and we enjoyed many years of personal friendship even though we were business and professional competitors. My wife and I enjoyed golfing and playing bridge with Bob and Muriel and I often entertained their children by playing the piano in their home - and I was delighted to watch Laurie become a gifted musician. Although I did not share Bob's political views, I can recall trying to help him win the Liberal nomination for a Regina federal riding seat by bringing all of my employees to vote for him at the nomination meeting. Bob was a sincere and dedicated Senator, worthy of that appointment, and he truly believed that he could contribute to positive changes in our country. He will be missed by family, friends and colleagues. I extend my sincere condolences to his family.

Bob and Muriel were great friends when we first meet in Regina through Jaycees in the mid 60's. After Jaycees party we would continue on at the Peterson home and enjoy Bob's cooking of bacon and eggs. Love from Alice and Harold Shury and all our family. From Richmond' BC.

Senator Bob touched so many lives and I feel fortunate that he touched my life over the years extending from those days with homebuilders and the development industry to those memorable years with the Liberals.
His smile was infectious and his sense of humor, golden. His counsel was always thoughtful and generous.
Bill and I extend our condolences for the loss of a wonderful man.

We were very sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. Bob gave me my first job after graduating in engineering. He was a wonderful man, hard worker and he had a wonderful sense of humour with an infectious laugh that echoed throughout the office. He was a deserving senator who served our country with intelligence and his usual full effort. A great man who will be missed by all who knew him. He will make heaven a better place!
