There were few people better for a hockey official to see at the rink than Les. As an executive he always looked out, rationally and compassionately, for the people involved in the game. I appreciated his friendship and support and told him that occasionally at the Royal Regina Golf Club. Our community has lost a wonderful man. My condolences.

Edna and I extend our sincere condolences to the Les Barrett family. Les was a valued member of the Royal Regina Golf Club and an even more valuable member of the Waskesiu Golfing Group. Les made the annual golfing trip north 13 times over the years. He was a true gentleman both on and off the golf course. His kindness and sense of fair play, in addition to a quiet sense of humor made Les a key part of any trip. He was someone who made things better by his presence. He will be missed and remembered.

How sad I am to learn of Les' passing. I am so gad I was able to say godbye before he left Wintergreene as he lived just down the hall from my suite. I didn't realize until after I read the obituary that we were both alumni of Scott Collegiate and had cottages at Regina Beach. He was such a very kind and gentle man and always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to the family. I first met Les at the Regina Golf Club back in the eighties. I also was part of the Waskesiu group off and on through the years. From the first time I met him one of the first things that struck me was how he played the game. If Les hit a bad shot or missed a putt he never became visibly upset (besides a little grimace). He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and that's how I'll always remember him.
