Obituary of Kenneth Anton Kleisinger

Kenneth “Ken” Anton Kleisinger, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children on Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of 80 years.  He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Theresa Kleisinger and his brother-in-law Roger Nordmark.  Ken is survived by his siblings Theresa Nordmark of Calgary, AB, Marlene King of Vernon, BC, Jim (Donna) Kleisinger of Regina, SK, Bill (Agnes) Kleisinger of Moose Jaw, SK and Pat (Ron) Thompson of Regina, SK; his daughters Cheryl (Jeff) Sorensen of Bassano, AB, Shauna (Larry) Ortman of Lumsden, SK, Lisa Kleisinger of Cluny, AB; and son Curtis (Lana) Kleisinger of Regina.  Also left to mourn the loss are grandchildren Ryan (Sariah) Sorensen, Mary Kate (Levi) Hall, Tyler Sorensen, Travis (Kyla) Ortman, Ryley Ortman, Reegan (Lindsey) Ortman, Brayden Ortman (Natalie Quong), Jaryd Nameth, Bryttni Nameth, Kendall Kleisinger and Katelyn Kleisinger and great-grandchild Parley Sorensen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 22, 1940.  Following a brief move to Toronto, the family settled back in Regina when Ken was four. He attended St. Augustine School as well as St. John Bosco and Campion High School.  As a commercial artist/sign writer, Ken worked at A&N Signs from 1957-1970.  He then owned and operated Regina Silk Screen Industries from 1970–1993.  Following the sale of his business, Ken worked at Display Co. Canada from 1993-2000 before finally retiring.  A generous and gentle man, Ken had a great sense of humour and loved to be around family and friends.  Old school in his ways and kind in his words and deeds, his word was his bond and he possessed a work ethic second to none – rarely missing a day of work throughout his life.  He was incredibly loyal to his family and friends, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them.  Towards the end, vison problems, Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia slowed him but he continued to make the best of his situation and always maintained his positive attitude and unique sense of humour.  He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare Elmview for their incredible care and compassion.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Regina Memorial Gardens.
