SHEL, Way

Way Shel passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in Regina, SK at the age of 73 years.  Beloved wife of Ya Way for over 54 years.  She was predeceased by her parents, Pah Lwa and Naw Mu Du, and by her son Saw Gu Moo.  Loving mother of sons, Nee Doh, Soe Doh Moo, Kyaw Nu, Saw Way Htoo, and daughters Tee Ku Paw and Dee Mu Paw; cherished grandmother of 29 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 16.   She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Yay Say, Gay Say and by her brother Htoo Way, as well as by her numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Way was born on August 10, 1947 in Pa Hite, Burma.  She left Burma with her husband and family for Thailand in 1994 as a refugee, and eventually arrived in Canada in 2008.  Way loved the Lord and was a faithful servant of Christ.  She was a faithful member of the First Karen Baptist Church and loved to spend time memorizing scripture passages. She was a caring and loving mother who encouraged and instilled Christian values in all of her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking and keeping a tidy home for her family, always keeping busy.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park where Way will be laid to rest.
