It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend, Louise Zver.  Louise passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 peacefully in the comfort of her care home suite at College Park 2 in Regina, at the age of 91 years, surrounded by family. She was born February 5, 1929 in Izakovci, Slovenia.  Louise immigrated to Canada with her husband Martin in 1955.  She was predeceased by her parents, Ursula and Franc Tratnjek, of Slovenia; husband of 59 years, Martin; and her sisters Maria of Croatia, and Vera and Anika of Slovenia; great-nephew Dennis Stemberger; and his father Frank Stemberger. Louise is survived by her loving sister Roza Lulik; son Frank (Janice) Zver; daughters Erica (Don) Fletcher and Joanna Zver;  grandchildren: Lisa (Brad) Moens, Aimee Zver (Patrick Crowe), Michelle Zver (Riley Hoggan), Jeremy Zver, Allison Fletcher (Brennan Wittig); three great-grandchildren Victoria, Addelyn and Norah; and her special nieces Maria Stemberger, and Irene Lulik (Dennis Ast); her dear nephew Emil (Debbie) Lulik; great niece Stacey Lulik (Michael Dahlman); great nephews Brad (Justine) Lulik and Robert (Sheila) Stemberger and their children Mya, Owen and Adam.  She loved and cherished her family deeply, but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much joy.  Louise is also survived by many extended family members in Slovenia, Croatia, France and Australia. Mom was an amazing cook, baker and party planner. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special holidays. Every family gathering involved a fantastic meal of an abundance of choices to ensure she had everyone’s favourites. Mom especially loved Christmas. She would be found well into the wee hours wrapping, decorating, baking and preparing for the feasts ahead. In the summer Mom would be outside tending to her beautiful flowers and garden. She loved nothing more than looking after her grandkids when they were young, and there were many sleepovers with a lot of treats.  As the grandkids became adults, they enjoyed many visits with their Grandma, and there was always much laughter. Mom loved children, and children were always drawn to her.  Mom’s whole life revolved around taking care of others, and in her later years, family made sure that she was well taken care of. Louise will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Flowers graciously declined. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or the Regina Floral Conservatory addressed to, Regina Garden Associates Inc., PO Box 1790, Regina, SK S4P 3C8.  Louise loved her flowers, so please plant one for her this spring, and she’ll plant hers in Heaven’s Garden. Very special thanks to College Park 2 for the loving and compassionate care of Mom during the last two years, and especially these last eight months during Covid when the care givers became her family. Special thanks to Selo Gardens and Parkside Extendicare for amazing care as well in previous years.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held.  Please join us in celebrating Louise’s life via a live online prayer service on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 7:00 pm CT and on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 am CT for an online Funeral Mass.
