Sheila Hatzitolios

Obituary of Sheila Margaret Hatzitolios

Sheila passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Parkside Extendicare.  She was an avid 5-pin bowler, reader, and traveler. On either Long trips to Europe or short trips to small town Saskatchewan, she enjoyed checking out quaint shops and local coffee houses. Sheila spent her adult life employed as a secretary, including working for several years at her beloved St. James United Church. She was proud of her lightning-fast typing speed, organizational skills, and systematic cataloging of information which consisted of a hand-written note, taped to every object, photo or document of importance. While dabbling in one of her passions, genealogy, the research into her roots led Sheila to become interested in her birthplace, North Regina. She dedicated two years of her life compiling the book THE VILLAGE – REFLECTIONS on the VILLAGE OF NORTH REGINA.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Steve (Sotirios) Hatzitolios; parents, John and Elizabeth Cook; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Jim Moore, Della and Ben Giesinger, Wanda and Saul Salminen, and brothers Jack and Richard. Sheila is survived by her three daughters, Gina (Darren) Alexander, Nadine (John) McGill, and Krista (Leo) Hatzitolios-Mireau; six grandchildren, Brooke (Rob), Lauren (Dennis), Parker, Kennedy, Colton, and Cassie-Lee; great-grandchild Kinsleigh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sheila’s family would like to convey a warm thank you to Westminster Care Home, Parkside Extendicare, and Pat Weisgerber for their years of dedicated care and compassion. As we cannot be together to celebrate Sheila’s life, please remember Sheila in your own special way. There will be a virtual visitation through Speers Funeral Chapel on December 11, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. CST. To join the virtual visitation please click on the link above. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 12th Ave, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
