KESSLER, Maxine Jean, of Regina, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020, at the age of 87.  Maxine was born June 27, 1933 on the farm near Penzance, SK.  She lived a short time in Manitoba, and returned to live the rest of her life in Regina, SK.

Maxine was predeceased by her first husband Arnold Jenkins (1958); second husband Anthony Kessler (1999); youngest son Dean (2009); parents Dan and Della McKerlie; sister Marjorie McKerlie; brothers Keith; Bob; and Daniel McKerlie.

Maxine will be sadly missed and forever loved by her children and grandchildren; daughter Gayle Kessler, St. Catharines, ON; son Garth (Charlotte) Kessler, Regina, SK; son Kevin (Ann) Kessler, Calgary, AB; daughter-in-law Donna Kessler, Grande Prairie, AB; grandchildren Patrick, Amber, Josh, Logan, Devon, Cody, Reyd, Danielle, Adam, Brennon and Chelsey; her eight great-grandchildren Hannah, Aliyah, Brooklyn, Colin, Jonathan, Emily, Zackary and Alicia; sisters and brothers Winnie Measner, Dorothy (Gordon Smythe) Adams, Audrey McKerlie, Bill (Janice) McKerlie, Terry (Karen) McKerlie, Ronald (Linda) McKerlie, sister-in-law Sharon McKerlie; and many nieces and nephews.

Mom enjoyed spending time with her family for meals and visits, for a muffin and a coffee, as well as get-togethers with her sisters and brothers. She loved spending time at the beach around the water and travelling to see her children and grandchildren who lived far away. Her faith was very important to her and in her later years, when she couldn’t attend the hall, she spent time online with her Jehovah’s Witness congregation.

Maxine requested there be no funeral or memorial services, and the family will respect these wishes.

The Kessler family would like to thank all the staff at Qu’Appelle House, who have looked after Mom so lovingly and safely, since she moved there in July of 2020.  The support you gave us during these past few months, always with a smile, will always be remembered.

A private family graveside service will take place in spring or early summer of 2021 when we can gather together to say good-bye.

“Mom you will always be with us, in our hearts and memories of times spent together”
