It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dee. She was predeceased by her father and mother, John and Susanna; and loving husband Ralph. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rod, Dan (Catherine), Vern (Sue), and Chuck; grandchildren, Samantha, Alexandra, Jessica, and Kael; her sister Caroline; and a number of other loving relatives and friends. Dee had many interests over the years and was most fond of gardening and birdwatching, hummingbirds in particular. She loved to laugh and anyone who knew her can recall that frequent twinkle in her eye when she would pull your leg with one wild story or another, meant simply to entertain or brighten up another person's day. As a mother she was a continuous source of support to her sons and we are grateful for, and comforted by, our memories of her welcoming smile and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered in our hearts. Dee frequently provided support and assistance to many causes over the years donating to Government House, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Soul’s Harbour Rescue Mission, the Humane Society, and the list goes on and on. In lieu of flowers we would ask that you make a donation to the charity of your choice, as that will surely put a smile on her face and benefit others in the process. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. To view the livestream of the service please click on the link to Speers TV at the top of Dee’s Tribute Page.
