Although we are profoundly saddened at her passing, we celebrate a long life which was well-lived. Teresa was born in Creston Iowa and moved to Saskatchewan where she grew up in Wilcox attending Notre Dame College. In 1942 she graduated as a nurse from the Grey Nuns Hospital. Teresa was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2007. They were married for 64 years. She was also predeceased by her parents Carl and Margaret Weisshaar; her sister Mary Ann Boll and her husband Bill Boll; brothers Carl and John Weisshaar; sister-in-law Rose Weisshaar; mother-in-law Margaret Metz; father-in-law Nicholas Metz; sister-in-law Margaret Geesen; brother-in-law Henry Geesen; nephew Donald Geesen; brother-in-law Nick Metz; sister-in-law Agnes Rochert; brother-in-law John Rochert; brother-in-law Robert Metz; sister-in-law Maisie Metz; and niece Susan Hornung. Teresa is survived by her daughter Karen Stark (John); grandson Dan Stark (Michelle), great- granddaughters Leona and Fiona Stark of Regina; grandson Tom Stark (Megan) of Fairfax Virginia; sister-in-Law Roseline Weisshaar of Peterborough Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Teresa was employed in various positions in health care until she was 72. She was a woman of faith being a member of Saint Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Regina. Her determination was her strength, not letting the bumps on the road of life hold her back. Teresa’s kind heart and sharp mind were always an inspiration to all who knew her. She enjoyed a good joke and a game of bridge. She loved plants especially orchids and always planted a garden when she was still in her house. She loved animals, particularly Karen’s dog and cats. Teresa enjoyed travelling. She enjoyed her time in Toronto supporting husband Don in his pro hockey career with the Maple Leafs. Always a woman who made her own decisions, she decided to move into Wintergreene Estates Seniors Residence in 2013 living mainly in the independent living area until the end. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Perron and Dr. T. Ooi as well as the staff at Wintergreene for the care and support she received over the years. Due to Covid there will be no funeral service. A private family celebration will be held at a later date. Family and friends so wishing, may make memorial donations in Teresa’s name to The Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 3G7.
