Nu Tu (Shwe Doo Hai) beloved husband of Eh Ree for over 53 years, passed away peacefully at Regina General Hospital on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Regina, SK at the age of 85 years. He is survived by brother Shwe Ya Hai; sisters Wa Moo and Lay Moo; 7 loving sons Aye Be Htoo, Be La Hai, Blut Htoo, Noble Htoo, Hsa Law Lah Htoo, Yo Kaw Htoo, and Dah Ler Htoo; 5 daughters: Lili Htoo, Eh May Htoo & Eh Say Htoo (twins), Hto Hsa Htoo, and Dah Bleah Htoo. Predeceased by his parents Naw Lu Shai and Saw De Kwai; sister Bai Moo; and brother Poo Loo. Cherished grandfather of 34 and great-grandfather of 2. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Nu Tu was born and raised as a farmer in Tay Mu Der, moved to Thai Burma Forestry as an adult with friends, and tamed wild elephants. He left Burma with his family to Thailand in 1986 and worked as an educational officer and Kaus Thoo Lei librarian. Nu Tu was a very hard worker and had a strong desire for his children to be educated. In 2007, he moved from Thailand to Canada for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s quality of life and education. Nu Tu was the very best hunter using his bow and arrows. He loved the Lord and was a faithful Servant of Christ. Nu Tu was a faithful member of First Karen Baptist Church. He was a very kind, understanding, and loving father and instilled Christian values in all of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed putting his little grandson to sleep by swinging the hammock and singing. He was the very best organizer and was able to do so many crafts out of bamboo threads. A private family service will take place on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 10:00am, with interment to follow at Riverside.
