Obituary of Earl Alan Ziffle
Earl "Alan" Ziffle, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at the age of 82 years. He was predeceased by parents Emil and Anna (nee Young) Ziffle; and an infant son, Daryl. Alan is survived by daughter Alison (Neil) Schroeder of Regina; son Ward (Tanya) Ziffle of Regina; grandchildren Kimberly, Kyle, Kelsey, Matthew, and Megan; as well as numerous cousins. Alan attended Wetmore Elementary School, and Luther College high school, graduating in 1955. After high school, he trained as a Lab Technician, and was employed at the Saskatchewan Provincial Lab, in Regina. In his late twenties, he moved his family to Saskatoon, and took a job as a Lab Technology instructor at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences (later known as Kelsey Institute, and SIAST). He attended the University of Saskatchewan part-time, and obtained a Chemistry degree in 1975, later becoming the head of the Lab Technology and X-Ray Department at Kelsey Institute. He retired in 1992, and moved back to Regina to be near his family. Alan enjoyed fishing, hunting, cars, wood-working, and was a talented all-around household handyman. A private family gathering will be scheduled at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home.
