Christina was born on April 7, 1952 to Earl Kitchener and Eleanor Jean Stanford.  She moved to Saskatchewan in the early 1970s where she raised her first family with her husband Ronald Firth who passed away in February of 1990.  Education was always very important to Christina.  After her children were grown, she went back to school to complete her Master’s Degree in Sociology at the University of Regina. She then moved to Ottawa to complete her PhD at Carlton University.  Over the years she worked in municipal, provincial and federal government jobs as well as in the non-profit sector.  After her first grandchild was born in 2002, she returned to Regina to spend more time as a grandmother.  On April 29, 2005, Christina married Randy Gill. They lived in Regina, Buena Vista, Leaf Rapids and then returned to Regina.  She had a great love for her dogs Max, Charlie, and Duffy who were always by her side. At Christina’s request, no service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 or at https://reginahumanesociety.ca/how-to-help/donate/.   The family would like to thank the Regina Palliative Home Care caregivers, as well as the MAID staff for their care and respect for Christina’s wishes.  We would also like to thank the staff at Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital who cared for Christina in her last days.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com.
