Frank Melville Goodsman passed away peacefully at the Lumsden Heritage Home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the age of 101 years. Frank was born on March 26, 1919 west of Stalwart, SK. He was one of seven children born to William and Evelina Goodsman. Frank was united in marriage to Helen Lois White, February 12, 1953 at Smithers, BC. They were happily married for 67 years. Frank spent most of his life farming. In 1962 he began farming turkeys – being one of the original turkey farmers in Saskatchewan. He continued to help out with chores on the farm right up until moving off the farm at Stalwart in 2012, at the age of 93.

At the age of 17, Frank made his choice to serve God – a choice which he was faithful to until the very end. Although he was no longer able to meet with the friends in a typical fashion, he enjoyed nothing more than having visits and listening to hymns being sung. He will always be remembered for his meek and gentle spirit and his twinkling blue eyes.

Frank was predeceased by his parents William and Evelina; two sisters: Carol Cathro and Dorothy Goodsman; four brothers: George Goodsman, his twin Fred Goodsman, Henry Goodsman, and Bob Goodsman; two brothers-in-law: Frank Cathro, and Harold Johnson; five sisters-in-law: Jean Goodsman, Edna Goodsman, Marie Goodsman, Phyllis Goodsman, and Eileen Johnson; as well as one great-granddaughter: Lillya Lewis.

Frank leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his wife Helen; two daughters and their husbands: Marilyn and John Cooper of Salmon Arm, BC., Sandra and Kim Fries of Bragg Creek, AB.; one son and his wife: Wayne and Jayne Goodsman of Lumsden, SK.; nine grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Ellen Goodsman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Friends and family so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Lumsden and District Heritage Home, PO Box 479, Lumsden, SK S0G 3C0.
