Obituary of Audrey Jean Pyne

NOBLE AND STRENGTH DEFINES HER

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Mother, Nana, and dear friend.

Audrey was born in Fort San, SK and grew up at the Orange Benevolent Society Home in Indian Head, SK. She moved to Regina to be with her brothers and complete her high school education. She then began her career with the Saskatchewan Power Corp. This is where she met her best friend Kathleen (Binky) Kelly of whom have remained friends for 60 plus years of friendship. In 1960 she left Sask. Power and began her family with her husband.

Audrey was a strong woman who overcame so many health obstacles such as a stroke at age 42, two open heart surgeries with the initial one being a first experimental procedure using a mechanical valve performed in Saskatchewan, and osteoporosis. She still went onto work at the RCMP Mess Hall and Sears Canada as a dietary aid.  Meanwhile, raising three children on her own.

As a Nana, second to None! Cookies, park adventures, playing games and spoiling them all. Through the years, listening to all their latest achievements and being so proud of each and every one of the grandchildren as they began making their own footprints as adults.

She will be forever missed by her children and grandkids; George Pyne (Michelle) Braeden, Connor, and Kelton; Scott Pyne (Michele) Brett, April (Cole), and Nicole; and Joanne Pyne (Jeff), Alex and Tyler.

Audrey always held her brothers and sister, their spouses, and nieces and nephews close to her heart. She celebrated many special occasions with them all. She was always grateful for having them all involved in her life.

Her Callander siblings and their spouses, Len and Joy; Ron and Mona, Don and Mary, Bob and Doreen, Bonnie and Ken Nichols; Drew (Brenda); Shannon (Ward); Jock (Stephanie); Greg (Marney); Rodney (Lee); Cindy (Bob); Laurel (Sheldon); Bruce (Kristen); Nan (Rodney); Sue (Guido); John; Angela (Ben); Heather (Matt); Cheryl (Rudy); Pam; Kris (Chris); Meagan (Kyle); Whitney (Justin).

Mom’s last years were spent at Sunset Extendicare Home in Regina. We would like to thank all the amazing workers and staff that took care of Audrey through this time. The compassion and kindness that they give every day is immeasurable. We will be forever grateful.
