Obituary of Betty Ruth Inns

Betty passed away at College Park II Long Term Care Home in Regina, Saskatchewan at the age of 95. She was born in Burford, Ontario to George and Edna Hearne (nee Shillington) and was the younger sister of Marie Creech, Dorothy Oille, and Helen Adamson, all deceased. Betty was the passionate caring mother of Elizabeth Turnbull of Regina and Dr. Douglas Inns OD of Montgomery, Texas and the beloved mother-in-law of Dr. Douglas Turnbull OD and Lynn Esposito Inns. Betty was the cherished grandmother of eight: Sarah Turnbull (Shane Janke), Christopher Turnbull (Tommy), Katie Hayes (Tommy), Joe Esposito (Becky), Michael Esposito (Chad), Adam Inns (Jana), and Scott Inns. Grandson Jeff Inns predeceased her in 2008. She was the proud great-grandmother of Adalyn and Jameson Hayes, Blake Turnbull and Samantha and Max Esposito.

 

Betty attended the University of Toronto where she resided in Whitney Hall. In 1948, she graduated with a 4 year degree in Household Economics. She liked to say that she took her science courses with the med students. Betty loved to bake and play bridge. She was a feisty perfectionist and a spirited lady. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Burford, Ontario, her time raising children in Brantford, Ontario, and her senior years in Regina, Saskatchewan.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at College Park II who took such good care of her. A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. To view the livestream of the service please click on the link above, on the day of the service.
