I met Evlyn when I was teaching her grandson, Willie, at Coronation Park. We have been good friends ever since. She was a caring, compassionate lady; putting others before herself. My favourite memories were our talks at the Home over cookies and coffee. Evlyn was so humble and didn't like to complain, knowing that many had it worse. Things weren't always easy for her especially during COVID. She worried so much about her family but she made the best of her situation. I loved her for that. She was my mentor. I will miss our phone calls, her love and her advice. Rest in Peace dear friend.
