A recording of the service is available below

The family of Shirley Daley (nee Burgess) of Regina, SK, is saddened to announce her passing on January 30, 2021, at the age of 84. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband Jack (1995); mother Lillian Burgess (2004); as well as aunts and uncles from the farm. She is survived by her sons, Ken (Brenda) Daley and Michael (Maureen) Kennedy and their children/grandchildren; as well as her daughter Carole Clive; grandson Kevin (Kerri) Clive; cherished great-grandchildren Kaydin and Kai-Lynn Clive; along with numerous other lifelong-friends whom she cared for deeply.  Shirley was born on March 10, 1936 in Regina, the only child of Lillian and John Burgess.  As a child, she enjoyed time spent with relatives at the farm near Wolseley, SK. Shirley enjoyed elementary school in Regina where she met close friend Maureen Kelly and eventually attended Balfour Collegiate for high school, meeting her future husband Jack along the way. The two were married on October 29, 1955. Shirley and Jack lived in Regina and area the majority of their lives and had several houses along the way, each of which was bought and sold without a realtor as Shirley was known for her doing things her way and saving ‘unnecessary fees’ wherever possible. While raising her children, Shirley also worked administrative positions throughout her marriage, and created a life full of traveling, gardening, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.  After the passing of her beloved Jack, Shirley moved in from their acreage near White City and continued to travel with friends, took care of dogs over the years including Pepper, Trouble and Tess and enjoyed days at the lake. Shirley was one of a kind and had a way that those around her knew was hers and hers alone. She may not have said it every day but her love for her family was number one. Due to Shirley’s lifelong love of and care for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, Saskatchewan S4P 3G7. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. To view the livestream please click on the link above.
