Graham and famly - through these beautiful words we get to hang onto and celebrate the vibrancy and happiness of Dionne - thank you for that! I met Dionne when I worked at the Canadian Cancer Society and I know how much joy and hope she brought to others just by openly sharing her experiences and being, well, Dionne. As I read through the heartfelt messages left in her honour it is apparent that she continues to have a lasting impact. My deepest sympathy to you and may the love and sweet memories you shared bring you much comfort and even more laughter and smiles.

Our sincere condolences to Graham and family. The world has truly lost an inspiration! My Wife Wendy met Dionne on a bus ride from the Thomas Bus dealer conference in Texas to go of course where else, shopping! The two hit it off immediately and spent the day happily shopping. On my return to the hotel room Wendy was so excited to tell me about this amazing woman she had met! Later that evening after the dinner at the AT&T stadium, Wendy and I were standing on the field when Dionne came running over to say hi to Wendy and chat about their day shopping. Graham came along and we were introduced. We had a great conversation and were truly amazed at the lives Graham and Dionne were living, truly living! Unfortunately we did not have an opportunity to spend more time with them before we left. Wendy and I often tell others of Dionne and Graham, and the impact they had on us in a very short time. Truly they are both warriors and have lived life by giving to others. A life very well lived. I always like to say May memories bring smiles. With Dionne, of that there is no doubt. My deepest sympathy to you. I did not know your wife, however, we purchased a Freightliner truck from Warner Industries and I saw the pink tow truck. I asked the salesman to tell me the story about the pink truck and I was really touched. What physical and mental strength she had -- she was clearly put on this earth for a special purpose. God Bless you, your family and friends in the days, weeks, months and years ahead! She will always be a survivor! I will do a spontaneous act of kindness in your wife's memory.

I was diagnosed with cancer recently and through a friend of a friend connection I heard about Dionne and immediately bought her book through Amazon. Anyone who loved dressing up in costumes is my kind of gal. I just finished the book on Wednesday during my immunotherapy treatment and was telling another treatment patient about how amazing Dionne was and her incredible spirit. I was actually laughing and joking with the nurses and that same patient commented on how good it was to hear laughter. I immediately thought thanks Dionne for making me not afraid to bring positive energy and a little sparkle with my sequinned mask to others. Dionne was an inspiration and is my hero.

Dear Graham, Pat and Ellen, from Hubbards Nova Scotia, are sending you fond and favourite memories of Dionne.
We were introduced to you both in Provo where many adventures were had on Grace Bay Beach, Restaurants (Friday night suppers) and condos / homes. Ellen's favourite adventure with Dionne was a trip to Pine Cay ( D and E called mosquito Cay !!). While It has a beautiful Beach, our trip exploring other areas in the golf cart required quick manoeuvring (getting lost at times) along with paper fanning to keep the mosquitoes at bay!
One of our favourite memories was when you helped us surprise Dionne in Regina May 24,2014. You arranged for us to meet at Memories for supper and attend the 'Just walk it off' cancer society fund raiser. Dionne was the quest speaker and we were honoured to hear her powerful story and message to live life to the fullest with no regrets!
A warrior for sure in the fight against cancer, Dionne was inspirational to Pat with his cancer diagnosis and we treasure her inscription on our copy of Never Leave Your Wingman which also included 'Fight Back PAT!'
Pat and I felt Dionne exemplified this quote "Let's always remember being alive is a Special Occasion" and we know you will continue to do the same.
Love
Ellen and Pat

So saddened and sorry to hear of Dionne’s passing, Graham and family. My mom got to know Dionne through hearing of her story and getting in touch because my mom couldn’t get over how inspirational Dionne was to her. After battling several forms of cancers spanned across 9 years, it seemed like there wasn’t anything my mom couldn’t take on. Everyone was amazed by the attitude my mom carried on and this mentality came from one person, Dionne. Dionne passed along such valuable with my mom that helped her along her journey too. I want you to know how bright of a light Dionne was for so many people out there. I hope you find comfort in your memories and the legacy that she has created for others to carry forward. ❤️❤️

I came upon Dionne "by accident", as I was walking through the Pasqua Hospital, as she had a table for "Never Leave Your Wingman", and I thought it was a raffle! When I realized that this was a special woman with a special story sitting at the table with her friend, I became intrigued and fascinated by her. At first, I asked questions about the book to avoid being embarrassed, but quickly was drawn to having to talk to her more. There was just something about being in her presence, even for those few minutes! Little did I know that a couple years later, I would become a member of "the club". Now a regular team captain at the CIBC Run for the Cure, I've had the absolute privilege of hearing her speak at the Run, but choked when it came to me approaching her to tell her how fantastic I thought she was, and what an inspiration for myself to keep going on. So, on behalf of all "survivors and thrivers", I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all of her loved ones, and say thank you for sharing her with those of us who she impacted so deeply, and will forever be continued to derive our hope from the example she left for all of us. . Thank you, Dionne!
