Obituary of Sophie Sakundiak

Our dearest mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Sophie went to be with her Lord on February 10, 2021. Her most rewarding life took her from Mikado, to Lajord, to Mesa, to The Lutheran Care Home in Regina. At all her ports of call she amassed a multitude of cherished friends. Her life revolved around family, friends, and creative talents. Sophie was predeceased by her husband Mike, her dear son Donald, two sisters and three brothers. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Evelyn Ryan, son James (Rachel) Sakundiak, daughter Virginia (Mauri) Coupal, and daughter-in-law Judy (Ken) Stevenson. The pride and joy of her life were her grandchildren Darren, Colinda (Scott), Pam (Rick), Jason, Tammy, Kipp (Amanda) Owen, Dustin (Andrea), Robin (Stephanie), Daniel (Crystal). Sophie was also blessed with sixteen great­grandchildren, Skye, Ashley, Jake, Sophie, Gabriel, Maxx, Jenna, Bentley, Luke, Riley, Donavin, Hanna, Lola, Cedar, Maverick, and Ace. Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Lutheran Care Home. Due to COVID restrictions, a family only funeral will be held with interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
