I'm very sorry to hear of Irene's passing. She was such an amazing woman and I really enjoyed our talks as we worked together at the food court in the mall. She was like an older sister who shared her wisdom of life with me. She loved her family so much and was so proud of the people that they had become. There are no words to express how much she will be missed.

Tara, Nicole and Paul,
I love you, and I loved your mom. I am going to miss her. I'm so thankful for the many years she was part of my life - always kind, always generous and always thoughtful. Her beauty lives on through all of you, and I am grateful for that. The way you loved her and cared for her together with such grace, perserverance and dedication over the past 16 months was inspiring. Wishing and wanting to be there with you today. Looking forward to the day that I can give each of you a hug.

Thinking of the family as you say goodbye to your dear mother, grandmother, loved one. I got to know Irene when I lived in Red Deer. Irene was so loving, kind, hospitable, frank and honest. In sharing her life and experiences, she taught me so many lessons. I remember her saying that sharing a meal in your home with company didn't have to be a big deal. Just having a can of tomato soup with love around the table was enough. That always stuck with me.
Sending our love,
Lisa and Kevin Vance

Our sincere condolences to the family on the passing of Irene. I have known Irene since we were young teenagers. She was very outgoing and friendly with a great sense of humour. We enjoyed going out for a good supper or having a glass of wine while visiting at Brian and Roberta’s. She will be missed.

Our family was blessed in many ways by Irene‘s kindness and love, during our time living in Yellowknife. It was an honour to know her and even now it warms our hearts to know that she is our forever sister in the family of God. The greatest gift to come to me personally from Irene‘s life, was precious friendship with her sweet daughter Tara.
Our hearts rejoice that Irene is now with her Lord and Savior, free from pain and suffering, but we also grieve for her family during this difficult time of saying goodbye. Our love and prayers are with you all.
Love,
Amy and Mark Switzer
