Obituary of Mabel Lillian Slugocki

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mabel (Michalena) Slugocki who passed away peacefully in Regina, on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Mabel was born on the farm located Sec 34 TP 34 Rge 7 W2, RM of Hazel Dell, Saskatchewan on August 27, 1933.  She lived in Wakaw, Saskatchewan from 1963 to present.  Mabel retired from the Wakaw Union Hospital in 1998 where she worked for 31 years as a nurses’ aide. She loved her job and provided comfort to those in need. She loved the outdoors, tending her garden and enjoyed many camp fires with her grandchildren.  Mabel is survived by her children Bernadette (Jerry) Kozakewich, Bernie (Brenda) Slugoski and Sherri (Lauren) Elchuk; seven grandchildren, Clinton Upton, Crystal Upton, Taylore (Richard) Fillo, Kyle Slugoski,  Desiree Elchuk, Brandee Elchuk and Shelbee Elchuk; and three great-grandchildren, Cyana Upton, Adam Upton and Olivia Fillo. She was predeceased by a son Anthony in infancy and a daughter Dolores in 2013. There will be no service.  A private family interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mabel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the staff at the Pasqua Hospital for the wonderful care she received during her stay.
