Obituary of Esther Anine Olsen

Esther A. Olsen passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the age of 94.  She was a hard worker who worked at various jobs in Winnipeg and Regina, but always had time for family and friends.  Family was very important to her and was very giving to all family members in time of need.  Esther always enjoyed her walks and her coffee time at Burger King.  She enjoyed going to Shoppers Drug Mart for her groceries and was treated like family by all employees.  Esther lived in the same apartment for the last 30 plus years and was the “look out” for the other tenants in the building as she reported many suspicious activities to the landlord.  She was predeceased by her parents, Arnold and Agnes Olsen; brother Ahlmann Olsen; nephew David Pedersen; grandnephew Andrew Grane; sisters-in-law, Cora and Naomi Olsen; and brothers-in-law, Bendt Pedersen and Finn Grane.  Esther is survived by her brother, Carl Olsen; sisters, Lillian Pedersen and Eleanora Grane; niece Elaine (Paul) Miko; nephews, Dennis (Karen) and Edwin (Pat) Olsen , Eddy Pedersen, and Jens (Kim) and Harold (Bernice) Grane; niece-in-law Paula Pedersen; she is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.  A private family celebration of Esther’s life will take place at a later date.  We want to express our gratitude to Lorelei Fletcher and the staff of Selo Personal Care Home who cared for Esther on her last days.  Flowers gratefully declined.  As Esther contributed to many charities, if you so wish, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in her honour.
