Obituary of Robert Fiori

Robert ‘Bob’ Fiori, 68, of Regina, SK passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009. At that time he prayed for 10 more years with his family. Almost exactly 10 years later, Bob was diagnosed with cancer for a second time. He again fought hard for more time with his family, particularly his four grandchildren that he loved more than anything. After a difficult 15 month battle he found peace. Bob leaves behind his beloved spouse of 48 years, Carol Fiori; loving children, Jennifer (Scott) Jungwirth and Justin (Cyndi) Fiori; cherished grandchildren, Mateo, Ethan, Allegra and Rylan; devoted parents Ido and Pia Fiori; sister Linda (Nevin) Fischer; brothers-in-law Harold (Debbie) Leibel, Morley (Brigitte) Leibel, and Joey Leibel; sister-in-law Marie Schweitzer; as well as many cousins, nieces/nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his in laws, Joseph and Adeline Leibel; and his brother-in-law Laurrie Schweitzer. Bob was born on September 12, 1952 to Ido and Pia in Barga, Italy. They immigrated to Canada in 1957. In 1968, he met Carol while attending Miller High School. Bob and Carol were married in 1972 and went onto have their two children. He worked at SGI for over 45 years. Bob enjoyed his work and the lifelong friendships he built in his years there. After retiring, his favourite past time was being a wonderful grandpa to his grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed spending time with both family and friends; traveling; and taking care of his lawn and cars. The family will be honouring Bob through a Private Service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3. “God saw you were getting tired

and a cure was not to be;

A golden heart stopped beating

hard working hands to rest;

God broke our hearts

to prove to us,

He only takes the best.”
