Obituary of Ghidei Tesfai

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a truly wonderful woman, Ghidei Tesfai, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 who loved to be called "Adey" by her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Ghidei was born in Adi Bidel, Eritrea to Letesus Merke and Tesfay Yihdego. In her early life, she moved to Milano, Italy so she could provide for her family. Later on she moved to Regina, SK with her family. 

Ghidei was a bright light in the Eritrean Community. She was a devoted member within the Eritrean church, and she loved to laugh, joke and get together with her many friends. Our mother was one of those people that just drew others to her. Wherever she went, she made friends and she never neglected to keep in touch with them. Nothing would stop her from making her children’s favorite foods when they visited, or hugging and holding her grandchildren tight.

Ghidei is survived by her children, Asmoron Kifle (Salema Forrest), Asmeret Kifle (Maezish Retta), and Rakelle Woldeyes (Dawit Woldeyes); father of her children Kifle Habtegabir. She will be incredibly missed by her grandchildren, Tamika Kifle, Maliya Retta, Nayomi Woldeyes, Marcus Kifle, Andrew Kifle, Hannah Retta and Noella Woldeyes.

Ghidei is also survived by her numerous relatives: Tesfay Yihdego and Letesus Merke (Bereketeab, Ghidei, Tsigeweyni, Askalu and Letebrhan); Yihdego Dileh and Brkiti family (Habte, Tesfay, Tsegay, Zeray, Keshi Tekleab, Miliet, Mahlet, Abrehet, Roshan, Midget and Nigsti); Habte Yihdego (Letensea, Mamet and Fitaw); Tsegay Yihdego (Berhane, Gebru, Kidane, Timnt, Yonatan and Ridge); Zeray Yihdego (Samuel, Tekia, Merhawi, Bahdgu, Rebca, Teklit, Hailu and Berhe); Keshi Tekleab (Goitom, Alganesh, Weldeslase, Yonas, Biniam., Efrem and Embacom); Tsigeweyni Tesfay (Michael and Yordanos, Maria, Kenan), (Yordanos and Williams, Noah); Askalu Tesfay and Abrham (Futsum, Mulugeta, Desale, Hagosa, Bisrat, Keshi Amlesom, Awet, Kahsay and Winta); Letebrhan Tesfay and Futsum Yohannes; Kibreab Merhawi and Yohana (Sarah and Zion); Mengisteab Merhawi  and Nakfa; Robel Teklit; Teklemariam Teklesenbet; Michael Berhane; Abrham Ghide; Freweyni Ghebretsnsae and Yonas; Zerit Mehari and Elsa; Wezenet Bereketeab.

As a mother to all, she had endless love for us. One of the most important things a mother can do is pass down her best traits. We can only hope that the kindness, compassion and generosity she has shown us over the years remain with us as we mourn her sudden passing and celebrate her life. 

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14: 1-3)

Public Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to say their last goodbye.  Please note, that due to current Health Restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed at one time, which will result in wait times. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church 4205 7^th Avenue Regina, SK   on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m. To view the livestreams of the Visitation, Service and Interment please click on the links above which will be made available on the dates and times of the services.

             ዜና ዕረፍቲ ወይዘሮ       

                 ግደይተስፋይ

 

    ክብርቲ ኣዴና ወይዘሮ ግደይ ተስፋይ ብረቡዕ 7 ሚያዝያ 2021 ካብዛ ዓለም ብሞት ተፈልያ። እምበኣር እዚ ሃንደበታዊ ምፍላይ ናይዛ ፍቕርቲ ኣዴና ወይዘሮ ግደይ ንመላእ ስድራቤት፡ ቤተሰብ፡ መቕርብን ፈተውትን ዘሰንበደ ተርእዮ ኰይኑ መሪር ሓዘን ተሰሚዑና ይርከብ።

    

ብምቕጻል ንታሪኽ ህይወታ ብዝምልከት ብሓጺሩ ክንጠቅስ።  ወ/ሮ ግደይ ተስፋይ ካብ ወላዲኣ ነፍስሄር ኣቶ ተስፋይ ይሕደጎ፡ ካብ ወላዲታ ነፍሲሄሪት ወ/ሮ ለተሱስ መርከ ኣብ መቦቆል ዓዳ ዓዲ-ቢደል  1951 ዓመተ ምህረት ፈረንጂ ተወሊዳ። ኣብቲ ዓዲ ምስ ወለዳ፡ 4 ኣሕዋታን መተዓብይታን ናይ ንእስነት ዕድሚኣ ብፍቕሪ ኣሕሊፋቶ። ካብ 1965 ንደሓር ናብ ኣስመራ ብምምራሕ ኣብ ስራሕ ተዋፊራ ንህይወታን ህይወት ስድራኣን እናኣለየት ትነብር ኔራ። ኣብ 1972 ድማ ንዝሓሸ ለውጢ ናይ ናብራን ሸቕልን ክትብል ናብ ዓዲ ጥልያን - ከተማ ሚላን ተሰዲዳ።

    

  ወይዘሮ ግደይ ተስፋይ ኣብ 1976 ምስ ኣቶ ክፍለ ሃብተጋብር ኣብ ከተማ ሚላን ሓዳር መስረተት። ካብ ኣብራኾም ምስ ዝወጹ ኣስመሮም፡ ኣስመረት ከምኡ’ውን ራሄል ብምዃን ምውቕ ስድራቤታዊ ፍቕሪ ተሰንዮም ሓለፍዎ። ኣብ ወርሒ ሓምለ 1987 ናብ ሃገረ ካናዳ ምስ ስድራቤታ ብምምጻእ ኣብ ዝተፈላለየ ናይ ዕዮ ንጥፈታት እናሰርሐት ከም ኩለን ኤርትራውያን ኣደታት ንደቃ ኣምሂራን ኣብ ዝብጻሕ ኣብጺሓን።

    

   ወ/ሮ ግደይ ካብቲ ናይቲ ስደት ዕድሚኣ ብፍሉይ ክጥቀስ ዝከኣል፡ ብዝነበራ ሃገራዊ፡ ሃይማኖታውን ማሕበራውን ሱታፌ ብፍሉይ ተዘካሪት ይገብራ። እቲ ኣብ ኤርትራውያን ኮሙኒቲ ረጃይና እተሰላስሎ ዝነበረት ንጥፈት፡ እቲ ኣብ ቅድስት ድንግል ማርያም ቤተ-ክርስትያን ዝነበራ ኣበርክቶ ግሉሕን ዝነኣድን እዩ ዝነበረ። ኣብ ቤተሰባዊ ጥርናፈ እንተመጺእና፡ እውን ከም ርእሲ ስድራቤት መጠን ንብዙሓት ኣፋቒራ ክትኣኻኽብ፡ በቲ እትመልኮ ምስራሕ መግቢ ኣሰንያ ንፍቕርን ጥምረትን ስድራቤት ዝያዳ ክትጽዕር ተራእያ እያ። እዛ ከም ኣዴናን ሓፍትናን ዝኾነት ወ/ሮ ግደይ ምስ ደቃን ደቂ ደቃን ከምኡ’ውን ናይ ቀረባ ቤተሰባን መቕርባን ብምዃን ዘይርሳዕ ህይወት እያ ዘሪኣትልና። ብዘይካዚ ምስቶም ኣብ ቀረባን ርሑቕን ዝርከቡ ኣዝዮም ብርኩታት መሓዙት፡ መሳርሕትን ፈተውትን ድልዱል ዝምድና ብምጥራይ እያ ኣሕሊፋቶ። በዚ ድማ’ያ እዛ ፍሽኽታ ዘይፍለያ ብርሃን ገጻ ኣደ፡ ስለ’ቲ ፍቕራ፡ ሓልዮታን ምቕሉልነታን ኣብ ልባትና ሰፊራ እትርከብ።

    

   ወይዘሮ ግደይ ተስፋይ ኣብ ረጃይና ጀነራል ሆስፒታል ሕክምናዊ ክንክን ክካየደላ ድሕሪ ምጽናሕ፡ ኣብ መበል 70 ዕድሚኣ ሚያዝያ 7 ካብ መንጎናን ካብዛ ዓለምን ብሞት ተፈልያትና ኣላ። ነዛ ክብርቲ ኣዴናን ሓፍትናን ወ/ሮ ግደይ፡ እቲ ልዑል ፈጣሪና ዘልኣለም ዕረፍቲ ክገብረላን ኣብ ኣብ ገነቱ ከስፍራን ጸሎትናን ትምኒትናን እዩ። በዚ ኣጋጣሚ ንመላእ ስድራቤት፡ ቤተሰብ፡ መቕርብን  ፈተውትን ጽንዓት ይሃበና።

 

“ጥቕሲ ካብ ቅዱስ መጽሓፍ”

“ልብኹም ኣይሸበር። ብኣምላኽ እመኑ ብኣይውን እመኑ። ኣብ ቤት ኣቦይ ብዙሕ ማሕደር አሎ። እቲ እንተ ዘይህሉስ፡ ምበልኩኹም ነይረ። ስፍራ ኸዳልወልኩም እኸይድ አሎኹ፡ ከይደ ስፍራ ምስ ኣዳለኹልኩም፡ ኣብቲ ኣነ ዘሎኽዎ ንስኻትኩምውን ኣብኡ ምእንቲ ኽትኰኑስ፡ ተመሊሰ ኽመጽእ እየ እሞ ናባይ ክወስደኩም እየ።” (ዮሃንስ 14፡ 1-3)

    

ዝኸበርክንን ዝኸበርኩምን ኣጋይሽና፡ ንህዝባዊ ምብጻሕ ብዝምልከት ኣብ Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK ንቐድም 10 ሚያዝያ 2021 ካብ ሰዓት 6:00 ድ.ቀ. ክሳብ 8:00 ድ.ቀ. ክካየድ እዩ። ነፍሲ ወከፍ ግዱስ ናብቲ ቦታ ተረኺቡ ናይ መወዳእታ ስንብታ ክገብር ይኽእል። ኩሉ ሰብ ከስተውዕለሉ ዘለዎ፡ ነዚ ህልው ኩነታት ለበዳ ኮቪድ ኣብ ግምት ብምእታው ኣብ ሓደ እዋን ብውሱናት ኣጋይሽ መስርሕ ስንብታ ከክይድ ስለ ዝፍቀድ፡ ንሒደት ደቓይቕ ምጽብባይ ክህሉ እዩ።. ስርዓተ ጸሎት ድማ ንጽባሒቱ ሰንበት 11 ሚያዝያ ሰዓት 10፡00 ቅድሚ ቀትሪ ኣብ ኦርብቶደክሳዊት ተዋህዶ ቤተክርስትያን ቅድስት ድንግል ማርያም ማለት ኣብ 4205 7th Avenue Regina, SK  ክቃናዕ መደብ ተታሒዙ ኣሎ። ብድሕሪ’ዚ ኣብ ሰዓት 12፡30 ድ.ቀ. ስርዓተ ቀብሪ ኣብ Riverside Memorial Park, 815 E Assiniboine Avenue ክካከየድ እዩ። 

 

ብዛዕባ ዕምባባ ምንባርን ፋይናንሳዊ ውጽኢት ምብርካትን ከኣ ን የማነ እመሃ ብ ቁጽሪ ስልኪ 306-737-0322 እናደወልኩም ክትውከሱ ትኽእሉ። ኣዝዩ ክብረት ይሃበልና።

ንሳ እወ እዛ ፍቕርቲ እኖ

ኣብ ኢዳ በርከት ዘይተሳእኖ

እናጸዓተት ከቢራ ነቢራ!

ስለ እምነታ ጽንዕቲ

ስለ ሃገራ ንጥፍቲ

ዕዮ እንተልዩ እተሳልጥ
