Anna Beston

Obituary of Anna Matilda Beston

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Matilda Beston (nee Fitzpatrick) on Friday, April 9, 2021 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Anne lived to be 105 years old.

Anne was born December 15, 1915 in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan to Irish parents Edward Fitzpatrick and Mary Elizabeth (nee Joyce). They were homesteaders and Anne spent most of her youth helping on the family farm. She married and had five children and raised them all in the town of Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan. Anne eventually moved to Moose Jaw, then spent many years in Regina, Saskatchewan where most of her children and grandchildren resided. She was an avid gardener and always produced an abundant harvest of flavourful vegetables that she gifted to her family, friends and neighbours for many years. Anne continued to garden into her 90’s. She travelled extensively with her partner throughout the United States and Mexico during her retirement years. Anne was very creative and had many talents that included gardening, canning, cooking, baking and sewing. She was put together at all times and overcame adversity and many of life’s challenges with grace and perseverance.

Anne leaves behind to mourn in her loss, her eldest son Wilfred Beston of Bulyea, SK; daughter Joyce Nelson of Moose Jaw, SK; daughter Diane Millar of Regina, SK; daughter-in-law Shirley Beston of Moose Jaw, SK; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Mervin “Bob” Paul Beston; daughter Evelyn “Bonnie” Beston; grandson Everette Millar; granddaughter Ellen Millar; daughter-in-law Dorothy Beston; son-in-law Albin Nelson; and son-in-law Leslie Millar.

Anne will be lovingly remembered for her kind and gentle ways.
