Obituary of Walter Gerald Booth Stevens

It is with great sadness that the family of Gerry Stevens announces his passing on Monday April 19, 2021 at the age of 74 after a year and a half battle with cancer. True to form, he battled with great strength, determination and  optimism all while never complaining about the situation he had been dealt.  Gerry was a proud and independent man who always put others before himself and found it difficult to ask for help over the past few years. Gerry is survived by his son Chad (Laura) Stevens; daughter Dawn Stevens; their mother Karen Stevens; grandchildren Chase and Ashley; siblings Terry Stevens, Dian Van Der Ploeg (Fred) and Gwen (Tony) Zabinsky; as well as nieces and nephews Derreck Stevens, Julia Mewhort, Ben Van Der Ploeg, Margaret Klatt, AJ, Melissa and Zachary Zabinsky. 

While in his years of employment he developed many skills and abilities. His most rewarding job was in his later years when he worked for the Corp Commissionaires. Here he developed many long lasting friendships where his co-workers would all agree that he was quite the character.
