Deepest condolences to all the family of Gordon, I had the pleasure of spending time with him and his brother Roy when I was 16 years old and visiting Canada as a boy before starting my first job back home in the U.K. I was staying with Roy on his smallholding and Gordon came to visit. We had a great time sawing timber for Roy's firewood. He struck me as being a very kind and gentle man and I was very pleased to meet him. Condolences from Lee Walker,my wife Claire and two children Thomas 17 and Charlotte 14. I am pleased that my parents Robert Walker and Diedre had visited Gordon and his wife in recent years and had a lovely time together. They both spoke very highly of Gordon, my father said Gordon had an ability to always see the bright side of life despite any obstacles in his path. They too send their deepest sympathy to Gordon's family.

Dear Aunt Lil and the Walker family.
We wish you all our deepest condolences on the loss of (Uncle) Gordon. He will be missed by all who knew him.
I can say that all my memories of him bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. He was always ready with a funny story or a quick joke to lighten any room he was in. I also appreciated his ability to hold his sister Yvonne (my mom) to task on any topic he decided to. Their loving banter was fun to listen too and Uncle Gordon usually was the unspoken victor :).
It is a loss we all feel and we are sending you all our love. John, Katherine, Joshua and Brendan Anderson

Every time I think of my dear Uncle Gordon, it is with a smile and laughter. What a great legacy to leave. I hope in heaven that the golf courses are challenging, the casinos are paying and his dance card is full!

The world feels a little darker without Uncle Gordon in it.
Although living in different provinces through my life, Gordon had a presence in my heart that was entirely disproportionate to the amount of time we spent together. He was the uncle that always made me smile and laugh. I found in him the sarcasm and wit that he shared with his older sister Frances, my mother. He brought warmth, joy and acceptance to a room. My whole family loved him very much.
I'll always remember how he and Lil danced the night away at my wedding, 8 years ago. My wife Allison calls him "The Dancing Machine" to this day. It says something about Gordon that - despite only meeting him a handful of times - Allison has also been really affected by his loss.
My heart goes out to all of you - his family and friends. I'm sure I don't need to tell you any of this. You knew and loved him.
There is never enough time with the people we love. I mourn the fact that I will not be able to have Uncle Gordon in my life moving forward, while I treasure the memories her left me.
Miss you Uncle Gordon. You were one of a kind.

Lillian, Family and my dear friend Yvonne,
Thinking of you all and remembering my conversations both recent and over the years, with this special Husband, Father and Brother and Friend. Always caring about his loved ones, always humorous, always smart and always a gentleman. It was an honor to serve him.
He loved you all very much.
Wishing you strength and peace. Should you look to the sky at night you will see a twinkling star that will be Gordon, no matter where you are. He will always be near to you and in your heart.
Sincere Sympathy and Condolences

Dear Aunt Lil, Cousins and families,
Our deepest condolences to you all on Uncle Gordon's passing. He always seemed to have a way of finding a bright side to almost everything. For as long as I can remember, he was an extrovert and an entertainer, who loved to make people laugh and never failed to do so.
I remember when I was little, we were at a gathering (pretty sure it was someone's wedding), and Uncle Gordon started walking/bouncing across the dance floor making the musical sounds to the tune of The Great Root Bear (Ba-dum-ba-dum, da-da-da-da-du-du) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMsQh1KkKsY, and I think everyone in the room was laughing at his silliness. I don't remember a time when he didn't do or say something that made me laugh and/or put a smile on my face.
Rob and I will miss his annual calls at Christmas time that we always looked forward to, and are grateful for the chats and in-person visits we were lucky enough to have with Uncle Gordon. May he rest in peace.
Love Heather and Rob

Dear Lil and your blended families,
We share your grief in Gordon's passing and send our love to everyone, wishing we could be with you at this time
.
We still have a difficult time accepting that Gordon is gone, but it was on his terms and we love him for having the courage to accept this and that he was his cheerful self and singing to the end.
Thinking back to our childhood, Gordon and I were 1&1/2 years apart in age. As the two youngest of six children, and living on the homestead near Smeaton, we had no neighbors, so had only each other as playmates for a few years. As a result we were very close and this lasted all our lives.
I do have to mention a story about Gordon when he was 6 and I was 4&1/2. At this time we lived in a small town (Lac Vert) when our oldest brother Roy (age 20) and his girlfriend wanted to escape everyone for awhile. They were walking down the street hand-in-hand. Not to miss a trick, Gordon grabbed my hand and we were walking behind them. Roy, of course wanted to get rid of us, so he gave Gordon 10 cents for us to each have a bar from the little store we were walking past. Gordon was much more interested in his stomach than in what Roy and his girlfriend were up to.
He and I went into the store and bought two chocolate bars. They were the same bars, but Gordon measured them lengthwise, widthwise, depth-wise and they were of course the same. As this was the case, he ate them both.
About 40 years later, I received a parcel approximately 12" by 6" and 1" deep; it was from Gordon. Inside was a family size chocolate bar and a poem which ended with the comment that he was replacing my bar with interest.
We think God must have needed a great country singer in his choir, and Gordon was His first choice.
We will miss Gordon greatly, but will never stop loving him.
Love to everyone,
Yvonne and David.

My Uncle Gordon........
I have to say, that he was a man who loved and valued his family and friends.
I always had a lot of fun and laughs with him, whenever we got together. Quick with the jokes and witty!
I remember Mom and Dad telling us about one time they were at a casino together. Dad (Glen) wasn’t much for gambling, so he would throw in a $20 and be done. Anyway, then he would wander around to keep himself amused!
This particular time, he happened to find a $50 dollar bill on the floor of the casino. He was quite pleased and proceeded to tell everyone he was with.
And Uncle Gordon pipes up with; “ OH !! THAT MUST BE THE ONE THAT I LOST!” ( With his usual mischievous twinkle in his eye I’m sure.)
There were countless times, when the laughter was plentiful with Uncle Gord in the room.
We had a lot of good times and, many great talks over the years.
He will be missed so very much, by everyone who knew and loved him.
Our Condolences to all of the family.
RIP
