Obituary of Wayne Everett Papequash

Wayne, also known to many as Papi, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the age of 46 years. He was born on May 27, 1974 in Regina, SK to the late Wayne Cote and Viola Papequash. Wayne was predeceased by his father Wayne Cote; his paternal grandparents Sarah and James Cote; his maternal grandparents Gladys Papequash and David O’Soup; many aunties and uncles; brother-in-law  David Cappo; and the mother of his girls, Inez Kahnapace.

He is survived by his loving common-law spouse Crystal Cappo; his daughters Sarah, Kiana, Kilista and Klarice; his step-sons Tristen and Keanu; his mother Viola Papequash; his sisters Crystal and Jolene Papequash, Naneek and Chusia Graham; brothers Christian Papequash, JT, Kuntoniah and Kouciah Graham; many cousins, aunts and uncles; brothers and sisters-in-law; and his mother-in-law.

Wayne loved his sports. He was an avid Blue Jays fan and Rider fan. The only thing sweeter than his personality was his Kirkland iced tea and his Tim Horton’s coffee. Wayne also loved his games, especially Coin Master. He sure will be missed by many. His laughter and smile will be in our hearts forever.

A private family Wake and Traditional Funeral Service will be held, followed by burial at Piapot Cemetery.
