Mervine passed away in Regina on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was born at Souris, Manitoba on July 26, 1930. Mervine grew up on the family farm at Souris, and later her family moved to Wapella, SK, where she completed her schooling. In Wapella, Mervine met Burton Beresford Hutchinson, and they were married on June 7, 1949. Mervine and Burton moved to Yorkton, SK, where Victoria “Vicky” was born, and later moved to Swan River, MB where Linda was born. On May 19, 1988, Burton died suddenly. While recovering from this tragic turn in her life, Mervine met Jim Trimble, who had several years earlier, suffered the loss of his wife. Needless to say, Mervine and James Herbert Trimble were married on November 9, 1990, and Jim passed away on November 12, 2014. Mervine was predeceased by her parents, Mervlyn Oliver Cathcart and Ina Ruby McFadden; her first husband, Burton Hutchinson (1988); her second husband, James Trimble (2014); and her brother-in-law, John Gray (1991). Left to cherish her memory are, her daughters, Vicky Komosky of Calgary and Linda (Grant) Ridley of Regina; sister Donna Gray of Salt Lake City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Jim’s children, Pat (Lilly) and Rob (Sharon) all of Saskatoon; and Grant of Regina. A special thanks to the staff and management of Helping Hands Care Group, for the excellent care Mervine received while she was there. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, an interment will take place at the Wapella Cemetery, and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mervine’s name to a charity of choice.
