It is with extreme sadness that the family of Calvin Thompson announce his passing on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was the adored husband of Jean Thompson; loving father of Kelly Pierson and Lana Thompson-Van Eaton; summer son Tim Berryman; awesome father-in-law to Grant Van Eaton; and an amazing papa to grandchildren Lindsay and Jordan Pierson and Jesse and McKenzie Van Eaton. Calvin was an admired uncle to nieces and nephews as well as a wonderful friend and neighbour.

Calvin was born on the family farm in 1927 in the Creekside District, RM of Garry and lived most of his life there. The third child of John and Nellie Thompson, he was always a farmer at heart. He enjoyed farming grain and livestock. Calvin was good natured, generous, warm, charismatic and had an intellectual curiosity and zest for life, accompanied by a wonderful sense of humor. He loved the light of his life Jean dearly. Calvin also loved Mother Nature, the birds and the bees, flowers and the trees, landscaping, music and sports.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Nellie Thompson; sister Edith; brothers Jack and Ron; sisters-in-law, Irene, Sally, Rose, Adele, Fran, and Mary; as well as brothers-in-law John, Leslie, John and Steve; and son-in-law George. Honourable mention goes to his dog Tripper and all his pets pre-Tripper.

Loved and cherished by his family and friends, Calvin leaves an immense absence. He is going home to God. Calvin is remembered with love, honor and respect. We love you to infinity and beyond! Until we meet again!
