Obituary of Audrey Joyce McKellar

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Audrey on May 7, 2021 in Emerald Park, SK at the age of 95.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Art; parents Dave and Annie McMillan; and sister, Nancy (Grant) Wade. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alan (Tereasa) McKellar; Arlene (Dave) Allen and Sharon Butler; grandchildren Tabitha, Jeffrey (Alanna), Michael, Jennifer, Matthew (Sara),  Jason, Morgan (Carlene) and Ashley (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jessica (Tyson), Leighton, Noah and Cruz. Audrey grew up on a farm near Terence, Manitoba. She attended Millan, Huntingdon and Souris schools; graduating in 1944. She worked at the Red and White store and Pousties Ready to Wear store in Souris. Audrey married Art in 1950 and they had 67 wonderful years together. She was very active in the community, which involved canvassing for charitable organizations, volunteering for Wesley Wheelers for 23 years and serving as a Tawny Owl for Brownies.  She attended Wesley United Church and was a charter member. Art and Audrey were loyal season ticket holders for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for over 25 years. Audrey loved sports of all kinds; she enjoyed playing softball, curling, cross -country skiing and bowling. The family would like to thank William Albert House staff for their kindness, care and support. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in Audrey’s memory to the charity of their choice. A Celebration of Life for Audrey will be held at a later date.
