I will fondly remember Father Joe in our parish and serving the Lord and his Church. It was a privilege to have known him and enjoyed his company! I had the privilege of taking him hunting and having him comment on some great marksmanship! May God bless his life and console his family as he brings Fr. Joe home.

Father Joe was our parish priest in Coronach for many years while I was growing up. I remember his wonderful sense of humour and his love for adventure. He would arrange with the parents to take us parish teenagers camping at Rockin Beach over by Rockglen. There were always many great adventures, swimming competitions and of course learning opportunities of how to set up our tents, cook our outdoor meals etc. He was a great role model and always made life more fun for everyone
Sincere Condolences to Father Joe’s family. May the peace of God be with you all through this tough time
Blessings to you all.

My deepest condolences to the whole Strohoffer family on the loss of a beloved brother, uncle and friend. Our occasional opportunities to share family events always left memories of a jovial Father Joe who was very much a part of the life of the event. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he impacted

It's extremely hard for many of us knowing Father Joe is no longer with us. Father Joe made church and being an alter boy fun for us kids; from the the alter boy parties with dances, McDonalds and Swimming in Swift Current and even Jurassic Park viewings at the Parish Hall, keeping kids involved in his sermons with jokes and teasing, buying us Alter boys junk food after we served for a funeral knowing that he needed to lighten our day from somber events. I remember he was big into technology in the early 90's, he had the coolest boom boxes, PDAs before they were mainstream and for many of us going to the rectory to visit was our first experiences with computers, even playing DOOM on his computer in the rectory, an almost unbelievable story. You could often see him zipping around town in his VW or riding his bike around town, stopping to visit with anyone wanting to chat or find him reading a book at the local restaurant. Finding him reading a book is my last memory of him, while out with my newborn son for supper, there was Father Joe reading a book. After myself being away from my hometown for 10 years and him moving over 15 years prior, he still remembered me and my family in that Regina restaurant and was nice to chat and catch up with him for 15 minutes and have him meet my own son. I know others that had Father Joe as a priest while younger and they all have similar, amazing memories. Every community he went to he left many good memories and lasting impact in the community and on so many people. Rest easy Father Joe, and thanks for everything you did for us.

I met Father Joe when I was just a kid. He and Father Ducharme would stop at our house (Bill and Anita Kuffner of Glentworth) for a meal once in a while. We were 5 kids and he would keep us entertained all night. He always impressed with some kind of physical feat like one armed push-ups! In 2019 he said mass at my Dad's funeral. It was a beautiful service and people still comment to me on what a wonderful funeral my Dad was given. Father Joe had us laughing along with our tears and I will always be grateful. Deepest sympathies to his friends and family.

I remember when Fr. Joe was located in Mankota and he would occasionally visit with all us Kindergarten to grade 3’s at recess on the playground. My greatest memory is him participating in high jump outside except he went head first and landed with a somersault. I remember thinking how amazing he was.

To Fr. Joe's siblings and their families,
Our deepest condolences on the passing of Fr. Joe, a lifelong family friend.
I first met Fr. Joe when he served in St. Victor as a recently ordained priest. Fr. Joe always treated us to thought-provoking and inspiring homilies. Those often grew into full-scale theological discussions when he graced our table for meals. Fr. Joe presided at our wedding in 1976. Since then, we have had the opportunity to touch base every now and again, especially during his time in Kennedy and Kipling. In 2011, Fr. Joe attended my father's burial in St. Victor, and stayed for coffee and lunch afterwards. My parents considered him a friend.
In his last years, Fr. Joe used his iPad as his window to the world. Although his mobility was compromised, he was free to wander the world online. He also used technology to brighten the days of people he knew, sending e-cards for special celebrations, and reminding people in that way that someone was thinking about them and praying for them.
Fr. Joe was indeed a good and faithful servant. We will remember him.
