Obituary of Ervin Leroy Buckmaster

Ervin Leroy Buckmaster passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 75 years, surrounded by his loving family in his home in Coppersands Saskatchewan. Born in 1946 in Moose Jaw, SK to Irvin and Margaret Buckmaster, Ervin was the oldest of 3 siblings - sisters Mary Ellen (Hall) and the late Verna (Potruff). He worked and lived on his family farm before a brief stint moving to Calgary, AB to earn his journalism diploma at SAIT College, where he met the love of his life. Ervin never the wallflower, was always the first one on the dance floor- often asking the music to be turned up louder. In his 60’s, he went back to school to delve into Political Science classes from the U of R “just for fun”. He loved Jazz music, bike riding, and having vibrant conversations with just about anyone who was lucky enough to cross his path. Ervin was the perfect blend of childlike curiosity and doting family man. He will be deeply missed by many. Ervin is survived by his wife Sonia; his children Jared, Everett, and Briana; his grandchildren Kayle, Kelsie, Brody, and Valentina; and his god dogs - Dax, Hugo, and Major. A celebration of Ervin’s life will be held at a later date.
