Obituary of Victor Mise

Victor Mise passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his parents Ante and Niko; father and mother-in-law Joe and Pauline Kumick; brothers Ivo and Marko; and grandson James Mise. Victor is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Johann; daughters Melita, Deanna and Paula; grandchildren Brandy, Sean, Nicole, Katelyn, Morgan and Dylan; great- grandchildren Will, J.J., Taelen and Addison; brothers and sisters in-law Garnet and Vivian Kumick and Doug and Marlaina Kumick; numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia; as well as special long-time friends Fritz Mittermayr and Gloria,  Eva Ratkovic and Don and Helga Glavas.   

Victor was born in Zedno, Croatia in 1933. He immigrated to Canada in 1955.   

He had a long and successful career with the City of Regina.  At the time of his retirement, he was the chief draftsperson with the Public Works and Engineering Department.  Victor was never known to sit idle and after working at his day time job he would come home and work evenings designing and drawing house plans for the many of the local home builders in the City.    

Victor was very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects. He was a master of history as well as being able to converse in 8 different languages. His thirst for knowledge continued throughout his life. He went back to university and obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree when he was 49. He also loved classic music and literature. He enjoyed attending local opera and Mosaic with his family and friends. When Victor first moved to Regina he played soccer with a local league. In later years he enjoyed watching tennis and playing bocce ball. He was always up to date on current events.  

Victor will be remembered for his love of family, passion for travelling, and being the most gracious host when entertaining at his home. No matter where Victor went he always seemed to bump into friends, whether when travelling to foreign countries or on his many trips to Superstore.  

  The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors on 5D and the Palliative care unit at the Pasqua Hospital for the excellent care they provided.  

There will be no funeral service at this time. A private celebration of Victor’s life will be held at a later date. Flowers are great fully declined. Donations may be made in Victor’s name to the charity of your choice.
