Violet Gustilov

Obituary of Violet Louise Gustilov

Violet Gustilov (nee Palmer) of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her husband Edward; daughters Dawn and Tracy; son Blake (Delphine); grandchildren Erin (Adam), Shauna (Kyle), Samantha (Brad), and Nadine (Tyler); great-grandchildren Owen, Lily, Kane, Hunter and Benson; brother Hugh (Cathy); sister in-law Evelyn; nieces, nephews and cousins; friend Louise and long-time special friend Marcella.

Violet was born on May 29, 1936 to parents Hugh and Elsie Palmer. Always known for her quick wit and endearing quality, Violet often regaled her family and friends with many anecdotes about the good old days (sometimes embellished). She was an animal lover (including spending time with the “grand-puppies”, and collecting stuffed animals), enjoyed her books and old war movies, and was never one to miss out on a shopping trip or lunch date. Violet never forgot any birthday, anniversary, or holiday, and was always quick to acknowledge and share in the occasion (particularly with her grandchildren). She will be most remembered for her great sense of humour and ability to make people laugh.

In accordance with Violet’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Violet’s love of animals, please consider a donation to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 3G7 or to a charity of your choice.
