SENTIS, Barbara and Randall

Robert Randall Sentis (Randy) and Barbara Joan Sentis, late of Regina, SK passed away suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the ages of 76 and 77 respectively. Randy was predeceased by his parents Anton (Tony) and Vera Sentis; and brother Vern Sentis. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Verna Knock. They are survived by sons Rob (Deirdre), and Scott (Kirsten); and six grandchildren Ben, Dave, Jon, Katrina, Tim and Evie.

Randy was born in Regina on October 25, 1944 and raised with his older brother Vern and younger sister Toni. He graduated from Luther College High School, received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the U of S in 1967 and 1969. He started working for the newly formed Saskatchewan Department of Environment in 1969, holding various Director positions, and eventually left the Department while holding the position of Assistant Deputy Minister. He subsequently taught at SIAST and finished his career as Director of Environmental Affairs for Teck-Cominco in Trail, BC.

Barbara was born in Saskatoon, SK, on January 22, 1944. She was raised on a farm near Hanley, SK with her two older sisters Pat and Joy and younger brother Bob. Barbara moved to Regina after completing high school and met Randy while working for SaskPower. They were married in Regina on August 7, 1967. Barbara chose to forego a career and spent her energy on her family. She had a strong work ethic and excelled at whatever she set her mind to. Her accomplishments, while not as public as her husband’s, were just as significant to those closest to her.

Randy and Barb were kind, supportive and generous parents and grandparents. While we are heartbroken, we are grateful that they passed away together and were spared the grief of losing each other.
