Sincere condolences to all the Peterson family on the death of Mr Peterson, as he will always be to me. He stands out as a great teacher, although I would also say we were taught by a group of very good teachers during my time in high school. I was a student who thoroughly enjoyed math and he found ways to challenge me and keep me interested in his class. I also had the privilege of serving him many a time in my dads’ store. Always a class act. I spoke to my mother this afternoon, she is now 98, and she also sends her sympathy to the family, particularly Evelyn.

My deepest sympathies to the Peterson family. I have many good memories of Mr. Peterson. He was a memorable person and made an impact in many lives. How he had the patience to deal with those of us who were not gifted in understanding algebra, I'll never know. May your memories bring you comfort and peace.

I'm sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Peterson and I send my heartfelt condolences to his family. There have been so many times over the past 44 years that I've thought of him with such fond memories. Like so many of his past students, he was one of my favourite teachers and the memory of him serving us breakfast the morning after our grad (1977) brings a smile to my face. It gives me great pleasure to say that the last year of my own teaching career (2018) I was given the assignment to teach Algebra and there wasn't a day that I didn't think of him. Although I thought of doing so, I regret not making contact with him at that time.

My deepest sympathies to all the family of Mr. Peterson. He was a great presence in our family as he taught my mother, Marjorie Koch (nee McClintock), my brother, Rodney Koch and myself, Glenda Hubbard ( nee Koch). He was a very passionate, caring man with a great sense of humour and always saw the good in life.

"Mr Peterson" once told me I was one of his career's biggest challenges ..... I REALLY struggled with Algebra ..... but in spite of my deficiency there, he never made me feel stupid & did everything to help me succeed ..... one of the best teachers I ever had! You all must be so proud of all the students he helped that way!

Dear Peterson Family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Mr. Peterson's passing.
My Family always thought that he was the best Math teacher ever.
As great as he was a Math Teacher, he was even more patient and kind to everyone he met. My greatest memory of him is when I was in Grade 10. I missed about 3 weeks of school because of surgery. I was so far behind and couldn't grasp negative numbers.
He was so patient with me. Staying after class and trying to get me to understand. Now this went on for quite awhile and never once did he lose his patience. He simply went over the steps one by one and sure enough one day I caught on and both him and I were very happy and relieved.
Please know that your Family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Mr. Peterson was one of the best teachers that I had. He explained math, in the simplest of ways, for all to understand. I believe he used to use apples and oranges as part of his explanation. Seeing him years later, he still knew who I was, without me needing to tell him. My condolences to his family and all those that will grieve for this tremendous man.
