Frances E. Folkeard (nee Loree), late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Fran was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Clifford Loree; and her sisters Jocelyn, Kay, and Merle. She was also predeceased by Leonard, her loving husband of 62 years. Fran will be dearly missed by her daughters, Nola (Gord) Joorisity of Regina, SK and Sandra (Perry) Gray of Emerald Park, SK; granddaughters Danielle Gray (Ryan), Kelsey (Luke) Boechler, Kristin Gray (Colby), and Erin Joorisity (Kole); sisters Lora, Barbara, Brenda, and Sandra; brother Clifford; and many wonderful friends and neighbours. Frances grew up on a farm outside Carmen, MB. She kept her love of farming and became “the grandma who thought she was a farmer” raising Charolais cattle, horses, llamas, ducks, chickens and peacocks. Fran worked as an accountant for many years and also enjoyed sewing, doing puzzles, knitting, taking care of her orchard and flower gardens, and making friendly bets on Saskatchewan Roughriders’ games. She always put her family first and supported her daughters and granddaughters in all their endeavors. Fran had a very special verse all were required to recite at the end of the meal and her daughters and granddaughters learned this verse at a very young age and still recite it today.  “I’ve had elegance sufficiency….” A Joint Celebration of Life for Frances Folkeard and her late husband Leonard Folkeard will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. For those who cannot attend, a livestream option will be provided.
